PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Federal government discards Sindh's projects from PSDP, Qaim Ali Shah

Karachi : Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has showed his concerns over the federal government's removal of 11 important projects of Sindh from upcoming Public Sector Development Programme. Qaim Ali Shah said that he protested at the meetings of the Council of common Interests (CCI) and National Economic Council (NEC), both held in Islamabad, against the decision. 

CIA winds down its drone programme in Pakistan

Drone victims protesting the killing of children by US drone in North Waziristan, Paksitan Washington : The CIA has announced that it is winding the program of targeted killing by drone in Pakistan due to stricter rules, diplomatic sensitivities and changing nature of al-Qaeda threat, according to AP. Peter Bergen of New America foundation, Washington thinks that, "The program (in Pakistan) appears to have ended," and it will dwindle further as the CIA and the military draw down in neighboring Afghanistan, reducing their intelligence-gathering capability. 

Measles vaccine reaction causes deaths in K-PK Pakistan

Peshawar : Measles shots caused deaths in Khyber Pakhtoonkhuwa province of Pakistan where people already think that vaccination and Polio drops are harmful for the children and some Muslim clerks also advocate such a message to commons. At least five children are reported dead, and hundreds were rushed to hospitals after they fainted as they were administered the shots of Measles vaccine.

Prime Ministers's fees reimbursement scheme starts in Quetta

Quetta : Prime Minister's scheme of fees reimbursement for the student of less developed areas has launched on Wednesday by finance minister Ishaq Dar.  The Rs 1.2 billion scheme is aimed at encouraging talented students of the less developed areas of Baluchistan, Sindh, Southern Punjab, D.I Khan, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA in their pursuit of higher education by reimbursing the hundred percent education expenses of the post-graduate student undertaking Masters, MPhil and PhD level degrees.

Pakistani Court dismisses case against an American FBI agent

FBI Agent nick named Joel Cox walks out of police station after court released him Karachi : District Court Malir dismissed the case against an American FBI agent arrested this month for trying to board a domestic flight with ammunition in his baggage. The Judge said that police has invoked the wrong section of the law. The police report was filed under 'C-class' which is generally known as a mistake of facts and police also failed to present evidence.  The judge than ordered the cancellation of the FIR filed against American agent Joel Cox. 

Malaysian Plane MH370 may have accidentally shot down

MH370 would have been shot down during US-Thai exercises which involved live ammunition  London : A book released on Malaysian missing plane claims that MH370 may have accidentally  shot down during United States-Thai military exercises. The book by London-based author Nigel Cawthorne, titled "Flight MH370 The Mystery", claims that the plane may have accidentally been shot down during joint US-Thai military exercises in the South China Sea and that the search may have been led astray as part of a cover-up, reported in Telegraph newspaper.

Largest dinosaur is about 65 feet tall and weighing about 77 tones, paleontologist  Buenos Aires : Archaeologists have unearthed the remains of world's biggest ever dinosaur, which is as heavy as 14 African elephants and equal to a seven-Story building.  The newly found remains are named as Titanosaur which is about 65 feet tall and weighing about 77 tones which out weighed previously discovered Argentinosaurus.

Earth is Surrounding by two heavy radiation belts NASA scientists have discovered two huge radiation belts surrounding the Earth last year. Now, scientists claim that they have discovered a new, persistent structure in one of two radiation belts.  NASA's twin Van Allen Probes spacecraft have shown that high-energy electrons in the inner radiation belt display a persistent pattern that resembles slanted zebra stripes.

Zaka Ashraf reinstated third time as PCB Chairman

Zaka Ashraf has been reinstated for the third time as PCB Chairman Islamabad : Pakistan Cricket Board's former chief Chaudary Zaka Asharaf is once again reinstated as the chairman of PCB by a Pakistani High court. Zaka Ashraf was twice removed from his post earlier, recently he was reinstated by Islamabad high court as a PCB Chairman but was sacked by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who brought his close aide Najam Sethi, an anchor in Geo TV, and with no back ground of cricket.

Karachi : Air Port Security Force has arrested a U.S citizen Joel Caucus who was carrying 15 bullets of 9 mm along with a magazine before boarding a flight bound for Islamabad, according to media reports. Airport police has taken the man into custody along with his suspected luggage.

2100 people confirmed dead in Afghanistan landslide

People are taking part in rescue efforts after the landslide Kabul : More than 2100 are confirmed dead after Friday's landslide in a remote mountain village of Afghan province Badakhshan,  northeast of Afghanistan. The spokesman of provincial governor told Reuters that, " More than 2,100 people from 300 families are confirmed dead".
