Largest dinosaur is about 65 feet tall and weighing about 77 tones, paleontologist |
Buenos Aires : Archaeologists have unearthed the remains of world's biggest ever dinosaur, which is as heavy as 14 African elephants and equal to a seven-Story building.
The newly found remains are named as Titanosaur which is about 65 feet tall and weighing about 77 tones which out weighed previously discovered Argentinosaurus.
The remains were accidentally discovered by a farmer who stumbled on the fossils in the desert near La Flecha, about 250km west of Trelew. A team of paleontologist lead by Dr Jose Luis Carballido and Dr Diego Pol of the Museum of Paleontology Egidio Feruglio excavated the remains.
"Given the size of these bones, which surpass any of the previously known giant animals, the new dinosaur is the largest animal known that walked on the Earth." researchers said.
