  Fakhar Zaman and captain Babar Azam starred as Pakistan pulled off a dramatic, rain-hit 21-run victory over New Zealand to stay alive at the Cricket World Cup. 

  Mohammad Asif was not pleased with Hasan Ali’s selection in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 squad.

  Pakistan Cricket Chief Selector Inzamamul Haq announced the 15-member Pakistan squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 on Friday, which notably includes bowler Hasan Ali, and excludes star pacer Naseem Shah.

  Ireland and rain had a major impact on the T20 World Cup on Wednesday as England suffered a shock defeat and New Zealand were denied the chance to take advantage when their match with Afghanistan was washed out.  Captain Andy Balbirnie led the way for Ireland with 62 from 47 balls at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to give England a 158-run target. England were five runs behind on the DLS scoring method, handing Ireland a famous victory.  “It’s amazing, kind of emotional,” said man-of-the-match Balbirnie. “Our message was to just create chances and we know how this England team like to play, if we take every chance then we would be in with a shot. “This will do a lot to grow the game back home.” 

  Karachi’s National Stadium has been renamed to the National Bank Cricket Arena as per a five-year memorandum of understanding with the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday.
