PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

‘Massive crime’ if contents of leaked cipher true, Shahbaz Sharif

  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that if the contents of a diplomatic cipher — sent to Islamabad last year by Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US and which former prime minister Imran Khan cited as proof of a conspiracy to remove his government — allegedly published in a US-based news organisation were true, it was tantamount to a “massive crime”. 

Disclosure of Toshakhana be ‘potentially damaging’ for Pakistan’s foreign relations, Shahbaz Govt

  The government on Thursday recorded its apprehensions before the Lahore High Court (LHC) regarding Toshakhana gifts, saying the public disclosure of such articles could cause “unnecessary media hype, which might be potentially damaging to the interests of Pakistan in the conduct of international relations”.  The concern was raised by the government in its report submitted before the single-judge bench during the hearing of a petition seeking to make records of Toshakhana gifts public.  The petition was filed by a private citizen Munir Ahmad through advocate Azhar Siddique in December 2022.  Established in 1974, the Tosha­khana is a department under the administrative control of the Cabinet Division and stores precious gifts given to rulers, parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and officials by heads of other governments and states and foreign dignitaries.  According to Toshakhana rules, gifts/presents and other such materials received by persons to whom these rules apply shall be reported

Inflation records highest-ever weekly spike

  ISLAMABAD : Inflation measured by the Sensitive Price Index (SPI) increased by 3.68 per cent from the previous week mainly due to the highest-ever increase in food prices, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data released on Friday.

NAB Enters the residence of PML,N leader Shahbaz Sharif

Both the bride and groom has studied in United States, website claims Chandigarh: The daughter of Pakistani Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif got married with the grandson of Lt General (retd) P N Hoon, a former Indian Army commander, claimed an Indian website,  coastal digest . Lt Gen Hoon is well-known for his anti-Pakistan rhetoric, especially when it comes to commentary on Indo-Pak relations and posturing amid provocations from the other side of the LoC. General is also believed to be an RSS ideologue.

Warid Telecom to launch 4G LTE services in Pakistan
