PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Drone are back, First strike of the year kills 6 in tribal areas of Pakistan

After December, 26 2013 strike, drones resume operations in the Tribal areas of Pakistan Peshawar : After a silence of more than six months or so, drones are back again in Pakistani tribal areas with their first claim of killing at least six people in North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday. CIA operated drone fired two missiles at a compound in Dabbai area in Tehsil Ghulam Kha killing six and wounding many and destroying the compound completely,  according to media reports.

Terrorists Attack on Karachi Airport thwarted, 10 terrorists killed

Karachi : A huge terrorist attack on Pakistan's big international airport Karachi has been thwarted by Pakistani security forces.  According to media reports, at least 10 terrorists equipped with rocket launchers, hand grenades, machine guns and other modern weapons attacked on Qauid-e-Azam International Airport by late Sunday night which killed at least 16 people, local media reported. All of the  militants were killed and military reported all clear at about 5 a.m on Monday morning, which ended hours of siege and explosions at the Karachi airport.

Released US soldier converts to Islam, faces charges of treason

Robert Berghadl, father of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, started his speech by reciting "Bismillah" a verse of Qur'an which Muslims generally recite before starting any thing which means "In the name of Allah (God). Seeing this, many American people and media think that, not only Robert Berghadl is Muslim but his son would also have converted to Islam and deserted the US forces.

Two Senior Military Officer among five killed by a suicide blast in Rawalpindi

A Senior Army Medic was also killed last year by a suicide bomb attack in Rawalpindi (Photo Reuters) Islamabad : A suicide attack on a double cabin vehicle killed two Lieutenant-Colonels on Fateh Jang road near Rawalpindi, said DG ISPR Asim Bajwa. The attack was carried out when these officers were on thier way to a military installation near Fateh Jang at 09: 20 am, reported Dawn quoting military sources.

PAF Jet crashes over a bus terminal in Karachi, killing four

Security officials cordon-off the area after the fighter jet crashed over the bus terminal (AFP) Karachi : A fighter jet of Pakistan Air Force crashed onto a bus terminal outskirts of Karachi killing at least four people and injuring nine, according to officials. Before crashing over the generally busy bus terminal, which leads to many cities of Baluchistan, it plunged into high tension wires causing fire in many empty buses standing in the bus terminal.
