In India rape is reported in every 21 minutes, but many rape incident go unreported
An Indian state minister belonging to Narendra Modi's ruling party has said that, rape is a social crime and "sometimes it's right, sometimes it is wrong", controversial remarks by a politician, The guardian news reported.

Babulal Gaur, the home minister, Modi's BJP-run central state of Madhya Pradesh said that, "This is a social crime which depends on men and women. Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong, until there's a complaint, nothing can happen. he told reporters.

Rape incident in India go less reported and police do nothing to stop such a heinous crime, even politicians do not take it serious, for instance, in Uttar Pradesh state where two cousins aged 12 and 14 were raped and hanged last week, no politician bothered to visit the scene and ironically they (politicians) accused media for hyping the story.

The parents of one of the victims said when they tried to report the crime to local police, they were turned away.

India tops rape victim list in the world where a rape is reported in every 21 minutes on average, a symptom of pervasive sexual and caste oppression, generally low caste and minorities (Christians, Muslims) became victim of such acts.

Recently, a women in Uttar Pradesh was gang-raped, forced to drink acid and strangled to death. Another was shot dead in northeast Indian while resisting attackers, according to media reports.
