PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Karachi: MQM's self exiled leader Altaf Hussain arrested over money laundering case in London on Tuesday.

British police has confirmed that a 60-year old man had been arrested from a North-West London property on charges of money-laundering, following a search of his property, with out disclosing the exact identity for "Legal reasons".

Security at British counsel announced to close till further order as security around it was beefed up fearing any attacks from MQM workers. 

After the news, the MQM workers immediately started gathering at 90, the party headquarters, to show solidarity with their leader. They demanded to continue their sit-in until Altaf Hussain addresses them, reported local media.

Altaf Hussain, a British National, is living a self exile life in London from many years was suspected in money laundering after police found a huge bulk of Pakistani money and gold from his residence while police searched his house in connection with the murder of Dr Imran Farooq, a defective leader from his party, who was killed suspiciously in London near his house.

Fearing his arrest in connection with Dr Imran Farooq case and money laundering, Altaf Hussain already recently tried to obtain Pakistan National Identity Card as he was intending to come back from Britain.
