PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Five US soldiers killed in Afghan Friendly Fire

This is the most serious cases of US military involving friendly fire during the last 13 years in Afghanistan
Kabul : At least five American and an Afghan soldier were killed in Afghanistan by apparent friendly fire by a US bomber which mistook the target, daily mirror reported.

Police chief Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai confirmed that the Afghan and foreign forces came under attack after they were returning from a joint operation, on which help was sought but unfortunately five soldiers and one Afghan army officer were killed mistakenly by Nato bomber strike. He also confirmed that there were no Taliban causalities from the air strike.


NATO statement said, "The causalities occurred during a security operation when their unit came into contact with enemy forces, Tragically, there is the possibility that fratricide may have been involved. The incident is under investigation."

This is one of the worst incident involving friendly fire during the last 13-year Afghan conflict.
