PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Federal government discards Sindh's projects from PSDP, Qaim Ali Shah

Karachi : Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has showed his concerns over the federal government's removal of 11 important projects of Sindh from upcoming Public Sector Development Programme. Qaim Ali Shah said that he protested at the meetings of the Council of common Interests (CCI) and National Economic Council (NEC), both held in Islamabad, against the decision. 

CIA winds down its drone programme in Pakistan

Drone victims protesting the killing of children by US drone in North Waziristan, Paksitan Washington : The CIA has announced that it is winding the program of targeted killing by drone in Pakistan due to stricter rules, diplomatic sensitivities and changing nature of al-Qaeda threat, according to AP. Peter Bergen of New America foundation, Washington thinks that, "The program (in Pakistan) appears to have ended," and it will dwindle further as the CIA and the military draw down in neighboring Afghanistan, reducing their intelligence-gathering capability. 

Measles vaccine reaction causes deaths in K-PK Pakistan

Peshawar : Measles shots caused deaths in Khyber Pakhtoonkhuwa province of Pakistan where people already think that vaccination and Polio drops are harmful for the children and some Muslim clerks also advocate such a message to commons. At least five children are reported dead, and hundreds were rushed to hospitals after they fainted as they were administered the shots of Measles vaccine.

A key Taliban faction of TTP breaks away

Mehsud tribe Taliban announce their separation under the command of Sajna from TTP A group of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced that it was splitting away from TTP after clashes among rival groups. Spokesman of break away group, Azam Tariq and a former Pakistani religious political leader of Lashkaer Jhangvi clan has announced that the Taliban breakaway faction is consisting of Mehsud tribe which would be lead by Khalid Mehsud known as Sajna in South Waziristan.
