Damascus: Syrian Kurds are fighting al-Qaida jihadist groups in northern Syria in a drive to keep their areas safe and secure, reported Xinhua news agency.
The Kurds have drawn rebels out of their areas they control in order to avoid sparking a confrontation with the Syrian army and to ensure that their territory remained free of violence since outbreak of violence, three years ago in Syria.

In a recent fight which broke out in northern Syria between the Kurds and al-Qaida-affiliated al-Nusra Front, as a result, the Kurds gained ground and expelled the Jihadist from a number of areas in the north, mainly in Ras al-Eyn area, Kobani and Tal Abyadh which is near the crossing border between Syria and Turkey.
Syrian opposition rebel parties, after failing to convince Kurdish parties to join their ranks, accused the Kurds of collaborating with the Syrian government, which is denied by most Kurds.
