Abraham Accords & Two-State Solution: “Absolutely Unacceptable” Declares MWM Leader

In a bold and uncompromising statement, Allama Syed Baqar Abbas Zaidi, President of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Sindh, categorically rejected both the Abraham Accords and the so-called two-state solution, calling them “unacceptable to the people of Pakistan.” He emphasized that the accords are a veiled attempt to legitimize Israel’s illegal occupation and are, therefore, fundamentally flawed.

“All efforts to recognize Israel are acts of betrayal against the oppressed people of Palestine,” said Zaidi, urging Pakistan’s leadership to resist all pressure from Western powers, especially the United States, regarding diplomatic recognition of the Zionist state.

“Israel is a Terrorist Entity” – No Room for Normalization

Allama Zaidi minced no words in labeling Israel as an illegitimate, terrorist, and occupying entity, responsible for the displacement and martyrdom of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. He warned that Arab regimes normalizing relations with Israel are betraying the collective conscience of the Muslim Ummah.

“The blood of Palestinian martyrs will not go in vain,” he affirmed, calling for continued support to Hamas and all other resistance movements. He highlighted that American interests in the region have consistently failed despite repeated military and political interventions, often at the cost of innocent lives.

Quaid-e-Azam’s Unwavering Stance: “Israel is the Illegitimate Child of the West”

The foundations of Pakistan's foreign policy were laid long before independence. Historical records show that Allama Iqbal, in both 1919 and 1937, opposed Zionist settlements in Palestine and supported the local resistance. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was equally clear. In 1948, he famously declared:

“Israel is the illegitimate child of the West.”

Even in 1939, Jinnah sent a delegation to Britain to communicate the All India Muslim League’s rejection of the British White Paper that aimed to establish a Jewish state on Palestinian land. He insisted on a unified Palestinian state, reflecting the deep-rooted solidarity between Pakistan’s founding leadership and the Palestinian cause.

Tanzeem-e-Islami Reaffirms: “Recognition of Israel Violates Faith and Justice”

Echoing this unwavering stance, Shujauddin Shaikh, Ameer of Tanzeem-e-Islami, declared that their refusal to recognize Israel stems not only from political reasoning but also from moral and religious obligations.
Faith, not diplomacy, dictates our rejection of Israel,” he said, calling on Pakistan to uphold the vision of its founders despite mounting international pressure.

He reminded the public of a historic event: On March 23, 1940, during the same gathering that passed the Lahore Resolution, a resolution demanding a single Palestinian state was adopted—making Palestine an intrinsic part of Pakistan’s ideological journey.

No U.S. Pressure on Israel Recognition – Says Pakistan’s Ambassador

Amid speculation surrounding Pakistan’s potential inclusion in the Abraham Accords, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, speaking in Dallas, Texas, dispelled rumors.

“There is absolutely no pressure from the U.S. on Pakistan to recognize Israel,” he confirmed.

He further emphasized that Pakistan’s stance on Israel is grounded in the vision of Quaid-e-Azam, and remains unchanged. The ambassador also noted growing Pakistan-U.S. cooperation in trade, energy, and digital technologies, but made clear that national interests would not be compromised.

Rana Sanaullah’s Clarification: “Pakistan Will Follow the Muslim World”

Social media was recently abuzz with a viral claim that PM’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah had suggested that Pakistan should follow the Arab stance on the Abraham Accords. However, a fact-check revealed that his words were distorted.
In reality, he stated:

“Pakistan should follow the unified position of the Muslim world—especially countries like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, and Malaysia—regarding any peace framework.”

He stressed that any normalization must be acceptable to the Palestinians themselves, especially those resisting on the ground, such as Hamas.

Abraham Accords: Diplomatic Shift or Dangerous Compromise?

The Abraham Accords, brokered in 2020 by the Trump administration, led to the normalization of ties between Israel and countries like UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan. While praised in the West as a diplomatic breakthrough, the agreements have drawn severe backlash in Pakistan and among many Muslim nations.

Critics argue that these accords ignore the decades-long occupation, ethnic cleansing, and systemic violence against Palestinians, especially in Gaza and Jerusalem, where more than 57,000 Palestinians have been killed since the October 7, 2023 war alone.

Conclusion: Palestine Is Not Just an Issue — It’s a Test of Justice

Pakistan’s refusal to recognize Israel is not a matter of diplomatic isolation but a principled stand based on justice, history, and faith. From the statements of Allama Baqar Zaidi and Shujauddin Shaikh to the unwavering policy of Quaid-e-Azam, the message is clear:

No accord, no alliance, and no international pressure can alter Pakistan’s stance — the recognition of Israel remains off the table.

Pakistan continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Palestine, upholding the belief that the liberation of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state are sacred duties — now and forever.
