Cairo: A criminal court in Cairo has accepted an appeal by former president Hosni Mubarak against his detention and setting him free.
Ahram Online reported that, the court has said Mubarak will be held for 48 hours to give the prosecution a chance to consider whether it will appeal the decision to release him or not, but it seems that the prosecution will probably not appeal the release order.
Hosni Mubarak has been on trial since August 2011, on the charges of killing over 800 pro democracy protestors in the January 2011 uprising, and was awarded life sentence by court, but now has received release orders in all the cases.
