Tokyo : Japan says, its planes flew over the new Chinese identification zone with out any resistance from Chinese jets in the region.
China has declared a new Air Defence Identification Zone on 23 November by declaring that all aircrafts flying through the zone are required to get permission before crossing the zone.
Japan's action to fly its aircrafts through Chinese zone was followed United States who flew its two B-52 bombers in the said zone on 25 November.
United States says that its bombers flew within the zone for half an hour and were not resisted any Chinese fighters in the zone.
Japan and China have long been engaged
in a dispute over the sovereignty of the uninhabited islands of Okinawa in the East
China Sea, which are located near a crucial shipping lane and give the
owner exclusive oil, mineral and fishing rights in the surrounding
waters.
