Peshawar : About 253 inmates were freed by Taliban attack on the central jail of Dera Ismael Khan, xinhua news agency reported quoting local officials.
According to media reports more than hundred Taliban militants attacked Dera Ismael Khan central jail in which 12 people were killed, 16 others injured.

However, Chief Minister of KPK, Pervaiz Khattak confirmed the number of escaped prisoners as 175, including 35 ‘high-profile militants’, six of the fugitives were later arrested.
Unconfirmed intelligence reports had suggested at least 45 high profile militants were being held at the jail.
