Amnesty International in its report, "Could I be Next?, Drone Strikes in Pakistan" which is most comprehensive report on the human rights perspective.
The new evidence indicated that US has carried out unlawful killings through drone strikes in Pakistan.
The Amnesty's report document which consist of 76 pages gives a detailed report of US drone strikes in Tribal areas of Pakistan.
Amnesty international describes these drone strikes a license to kill innocent people on the ground and these strikes are neither transparent nor lawful.
Amnesty International’s Pakistan Researcher, Mustafa Qadri said, “Secrecy surrounding the drones program gives
the US administration a license to kill beyond the reach of the courts or basic
standards of international law. It’s time for the USA to come clean about the
drones program and hold those responsible for these violations to account,”
“What hope for redress can there be for victims of drone attacks and their
families when the USA won’t even acknowledge its responsibility for particular
strikes?” he added.
The report was released jointly in a News conference with Humans Rights Watch, which issued its own report on the drone strikes in Yemen.
The timings of the report are crucial as Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is visiting United States and due to meet US president Barrak Obama.
