Pakistan face their biggest rivals India in a blockbuster Super 4 Asia Cup match in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The One-Day International is set to start at 3pm local time (09:30 GMT) at the R Premadasa Stadium.

Both sets of players are going through their pre-match warm-up routines in what’s turning out to be a very hot day.

Some clouds are lurking in the background but they don’t seem ominous, for now.

Former India coach Ravi Shastri, who is now a broadcaster, says the two captains – Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam – will bring the X factor to their respective sides in today’s highly-anticipated clash.

Pitch report
Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis, who is now a broadcaster, says:

“The pitch has been watered yesterday, and the grass has been rolled in, definitely greener than yesterday’s game [between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh]. Moisture underneath the grass will give bowlers something.”

India and Pakistan shirts sell like crazy Senaratana and his wife have travelled from 25km (15.5 miles) south of Colombo to set up a cricket merchandise stall outside the R Premadasa stadium for the Asia Cup.

“We have lost count of the number of India and Pakistan shirts we have sold so far, way more than Sri Lankan shirts,” he told Al Jazeera at his stall a few feet from the stadium entrance.
