PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Future of Imran Khan in Pakistani Politics

He is a Muslim icon of our time, respected not only for his political acumen but also for his philanthropic activities. The former Prime Minister of Pakistan was the founder of many well-known charities and organizations, including those which he established through funding from foreign governments. His charitable initiatives were among the earliest to gain popularity outside of Kashmir. They include scholarships for underprivileged children in Pakistan, providing humanitarian aid during natural disasters in Pakistan, aiding women and youth in developing countries such as India and Nepal, promoting education in rural areas and spreading awareness about health issues in Pakistan.

Since joining politics, he has been active in shaping policies on various economic policies, supporting government institutions and their operations, contributing to foreign policy, and making recommendations regarding important national matters. Although this approach is very rare, it is true that his personal life has always remained controversial. While some people are eager to watch him closely, others criticize him for being excessively ambitious and self-centered, especially when it comes to dealing with global affairs. As a member of the National Assembly, Imran Khan should not forget that he represents the ordinary person who goes against all odds and takes risks to ensure that no one feels left out. If you want to understand the future of Imran Khan, watch his speeches carefully — his words will make you believe in him and encourage your own convictions!

In recent years, we have witnessed how Imran Khan was instrumental in securing peace in Afghanistan between 2001 and 2014. Even President Trump visited the country, praised its efforts for bringing stability to Afghanistan and welcomed Taliban leaders and members who came to Pakistan after the Afghan war ended. Today, several other neighboring nations recognize the value of these relationships, and they include Iran, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. This shows how Pakistanis can rally behind an individual of any ethnicity or nationality, regardless of their religious beliefs. We must appreciate that our politicians are aware of these values and do everything possible to protect them. After having served six times for the nation in Parliament or as president, he understands the importance of following the rules and norms set by the establishment, making sure that citizens are given the best opportunity to live long lives, fulfilling their potential, and taking advantage of opportunities provided by the free market system.

Imran Khan’s actions show how much a leader wants to give back to society, promote development in poor families, and change the perception about the state’s role in life. He does not hide his intentions. For instance, in August 2018, before leaving for Europe, Pakistan, like many other South Asian countries, had faced significant security problems after the invasion of ISIS in Syria ended. However, he knew that if he supported the West to help solve these social grievances, then it would bring great benefits to his people. Therefore, this choice was made based on this principle, and now, as a result of it, our country receives significant financial assistance. That said, let us take a closer look at three events that could influence Imran Khan’s decision to pursue a different course of action.

On September 19, 2018, he attended an invitation dinner as part of UNESCO’s World Heritage list ceremony. Since 2009, UNESCO has collaborated with Pakistan to celebrate cultural landmarks with local communities. According to him, these traditions and customs have enriched the lives of many generations across the globe. These events allowed him to hear directly from the participants and to receive positive feedback from them. He expressed gratitude that these rich memories would be added to history books and shared by generations to come. However, he did not take anything for granted, and he immediately announced on Twitter that “our focus right now is to work hand in hand with world leaders for international diplomacy and cooperation.” It is clear that there is still room for progress, so rather than focusing on the positives, he decided to leave the door open for new negotiations. One year later, the two leaders signed several MOUs, meaning Memorandum of Understanding, committing themselves to further support each other’s interests.

On November 4, 2019, Imran Khan announced his plan to launch a $500 million project named Chhavi (“peace”). To get access to funds, he invited representatives of various foundations and corporations to invest $500 million in the construction of Chhavi. He wanted to build a mega-project that would become an example for similar projects in other parts of the world and attract more investments from foreign entities. Furthermore, this project would allow Pakistan to create employment in large numbers, which would increase the country’s GDP significantly. By putting up a foundation to achieve this ambitious goal, the incumbent prime minister hoped to demonstrate that his government is willing to work together with the private sector. When asked to explain why, he replied with another tweet: “Pakistan loves the United States’ independence and sovereignty, so we feel that it is incumbent upon all of humanity to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the US as well, and we know this makes Pakistan proud and committed.”

At present, Imran Khan claims to be the most popular politician in Pakistan. He enjoys overwhelming approval ratings among the public, even though he may lack integrity and honesty on top of it all. A majority of the population sees him as someone who makes decisions quickly without consideration of the consequences and the impact on other parties. From the point of view of opponents and critics, our leader prefers shortsightedness over long-term goals and often focuses on personal gains at the cost of everyone else’s feelings. However, we must admit that despite what might seem strange to us, he has actually made good choices. Indeed, his past experience should serve as an inspiration for younger people. Imran Khan proved himself to be competent and intelligent enough to lead from the front, leading Pakistan’s economy into growth. Through the implementation of policies that have benefited his people on both sides of the river, today, the country is in better shape than ever before. With every passing day, the chances of seeing Imran Khan’s face in office are increasing. Because the man he knows best and who he has proven himself to be throughout the course of a lifetime, is capable of doing tremendous things. Despite all criticism coming his way, Imran Khan continues to strive for greatness and fulfills his duties without hesitation.
