South Korean passenger ferry was carrying teenagers of a high school for a trip |
Seoul : More than 300 people were missing after a South Korean passenger ferry disaster in the southern coast of the country.
Until Wednesday evening, four people were confirmed dead and about 291 were still unaccounted as passenger ferry almost submerged into the water, raising the fear that rest of the people were already dead.
The ferry was carrying 459 passengers, most of them teenagers on a high school trip as it gradually went belly-up, then slipped deeper and deeper into chilled waters of Yellow Sea.
According to South Korean government, 164 people had been rescued so far despite of coast guard boats and rescue helicopters swarmed the area.
