PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Islamabad : At least eleven people along a civil judge were killed after an attack on civil court located in sector F-8 Islamabad, according to media reports.

Twenty nine more were injured after two blasts took place inside court premises, as lawyers fled from their chambers seeking shelter from bullets as panic gripped the scene.

AFP quoting officers at the scene told that the incident began when a defendant was brought before the court and his associate tried to break him free. The attackers also entered the chambers of judge Rafaqat Awan and opened fire on him who was killed on the spot.

Some other reports suggest that attackers were two teen suicide bombers aged between 14-15 and they threw hand grenades and fired indiscriminately before they blew themselves up.

The capital city is currently on high alert after the attack, the attack took place just one day after Pakistan has announced cease fire with outlawed Tahreek e Taliban Pakistan TTP.
