PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Islamabad : At least 20 Pakistani troops were killed and 30 more injured after a bomb ripped off inside a vehicle which was part of the convoy of security forces in Bannu near Pak-Afghan border according to ISPR which confirmed the death toll.

According to media, the bomb was planted inside a private vehicle which was hired by security forces (FC) and part of convoy to carry fresh loads towards North Waziristan, the troubled area of Pak-Afghan border.

Private vehicle are generally hired for the convoys which usually move by imposing curfew on the road side and after the incident FC is investigating that who hired the vehicle and from whom, about 40 drivers have been taken into custody after the incident.

No group has claimed responsibility of the bomb blast but such type of attacks are generally carried out by Taliban militants.

On the other hand Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has said that they ready to talk with Pakistani government, Taliban has been rejecting the talks with Pakistan government since the killing of their leader in US drone attack.
