PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Drone attack in Pakistan kill Six along Senior Taliban Commander

Islamabad : Despite of assurances from President Obama of not carrying out any drone attacks in tribal areas of Pakistan until peace talks between Pakistani government and Taliban succeed, United States has carried out a double drone attack in Pakistani Tribal areas.

According to Pakistani media, drone attack was carried out on the stronghold of Tahreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) near the house of Taliban Commander, Hakimullah Masood. 

The target of the drone attack was a vehicle  which was said to be under use of  Taliban Commander, Hakimullah Masood. 

Some unconfirmed reports claimed that Taliban Commander Hakimullah Masood was killed in the attack.

Defense Minister of Pakistan, Chaudry Nisar, blamed United States of sabotaging the talks between Pakistan and Taliban. He further said that a group of government representatives was scheduled for yesterday to talk with Taliban which has been canceled now.

The day marked two drone attacks, one in this morning on an empty house with no casualties and other one in afternoon on a vehicle.

This wave of drone attack was first in Pakistan since President Obama and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif meet in Washington.

United State has continued its drone program despite Amnesty International and Human Right Watch reports against the drone attacks.
