PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

US sought Pakistani help in averting Al Qaeda attack

Washington : Former United States president Bill Clinton sought Pakistan's help to avert an Al Qaeda attack on United States according to declassified document.

Bill Clinton, being president of United States, telephoned Nawaz Sharif and asked him to use his influence over Taliban to stop Al Qaeda attack, says the declassified memorandum of the telephonic conversation made available by Bill Clinton Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. 


During the conversation, on December 18, 1998, Bill Clinton asked then prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, "I need  your personnel help", the conversation lasted about 6 minutes or so.

In reply, Nawaz Sharif promised help to President Clinton by declaring that Taliban are very rigid people and he will try to convince them by sending his rep to them.

The Taliban ruled Afghanistan at that time and Al Qaeda was enjoying freedom and shelter under Taliban.
