Washington: NASA feels pinch from two weeks of U.S govt shutdown effects as most of its employees laid off and many experiments and programs halted says a former NASA employee.
Xinhau News agency quoted George Abbey, a farmer director of Johnson space center Houston that about 97 percent of center's staff was furloughed and only a minor staff to assist international space station (ISS).
"The flight
controllers that support the ISS are working. The control center in Moscow of
course supports the station." said Abbey, therefore, ISS has not
been affected by the shutdown
