Damascus : According to a Lebanese daily, President Bashar Al-Assad has said that his country would emerge "victorious" in any confrontation with the United States and its allies.
A Lebanese Newspaper Al-Akhbar quoted Bashar Al-Assad telling Syrian officials that,
"Since the start of the crisis, as you know, we have waited for our true enemy to reveal itself, I know that your morale is good and that you are ready to face any attack and to save the homeland, it's a historic confrontation from which we will emerge victorious,"
United States and its Western allies have threatened immediate military strikes against Syria over alleged chemical attack on 21 August near Damascus suburbs in which many civilians were killed along children, Assad regime denies any involvement in the attack and blames Syrian rebels for carrying out such an attack.
