PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Local media reports that about 7 explosions were heard along with huge gun fire as terrorists blasted explosive-laden vehicle in front of the headquarters of premier Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
Dawn news quoting local resources reported that four agency officials were among the dead including ISI's deputy director Maj Zeeshan, Azizullah, Asghar Ali and Nazeer Ahmed. but there was no official confirmation of the death of the agency officials.

Head of the paramilitary forces Sindh Rangers Major General Rizwan Akhtar said,

“All three militants who seized the compound have also been killed and the building completely cleared of terrorists”. 

Major Rizwan added that the front wall and gate of the ISI office had been blown away by the impact of the first blast. 

At the mean time, an other suicide bomber blew himself up on the gate of a near by police station, according to a senior Police official it was “an organized terrorist attack". 

Sukkur has been traditionally been a peaceful city and has been immuned from such violence. 

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
