PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Violent Confrontations Erupt across United States, President Trump took shelter in white house bunker


WASHINGTON: Secret Service agents rushed President Donald Trump to a White House bunker as hundreds of protesters gathered outside the executive mansion, some of them throwing rocks and tugging at police barricades.

sident Donald Trump spent nearly an hour in the bunker, which was designed for use in emergencies like terrorist attacks, according to a Republican close to the White House who was not authorized to publicly discuss private matters and spoke on condition of anonymity. The account was confirmed by an administration official who also on condition of anonymity. 

The protests were triggered by the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after he was pinned at the neck by a white Minneapolis police officer.

Violent confrontations erupted across the city

Parts of New York City descended into chaos for a fourth night on Sunday as largely peaceful demonstrations over the death of George Floyd turned into jarring scenes of flaming debris, human stampedes and looted storefronts.

As the night wore on violent confrontations erupted throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. Protesters threw glass bottles and trash at the police, while large groups of officers charged down streets, pushing crowds of demonstrators aside and using batons as they made arrests. 

In Lower Manhattan, some protesters shouted angrily at looters who were breaking into shops like a Duane Reade drugstore.
