Lahore: Pakistani Doctors appeal govt to implement strict stay at home restrictions, as pandemic is growing and spreading very rapidly nation wide.
Talking to the Media, Pakistan Medical Association, appealed the government to withdraw its recent orders to allow people to offer prayers in the Mosques, and advised to follow other Muslim countries like Saudi and Iran in holy Month of Ramadan.
The association appealed the government to not commit same mistakes like UK, Italy and United States in easing restrictions as Pakistan is a country with limited resources and not in a position to facilitate the people in a catastrophic phase.
"We are short of medical staff, facilities and resources , so please don't invite pandemic in your homes as coming two to four weeks are critical in this regard" said the representatives of Pakistan Medical Association.
On the other hand many Ulema (religious scholars) are of opinion that Taraveh (Special Ramandan Night Prayers) could be offered at home.
Corona Cases in Pakistan exceed 10,513 with 224 dead till date and more new cases emerged rapidly in different parts of country.
On the other hand the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday that he hoped the Trump administration would reconsider its suspension of funding, but that his main focus was on ending the pandemic and saving lives.
There were “worrying upward trends” in early epidemics in parts of Africa and central and South America, WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.
“Most countries are still in the early stages of their epidemics and some that were affected early in the pandemic are starting to see a resurgence in cases,” Tedros told Geneva journalists in a virtual briefing.
