PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Islamabad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has written a letter to the British government to extradite former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan, media reported on Tuesday.
The letter stated that Nawaz Sharif is a convict in corruption cases and he should be sent back to Pakistan.

The government further stated in the letter that the bail period of the ex-PM has expired and he should be extradited so he could complete his jail term.

The document maintained that a legal process will be followed to bring PML-N leader back to the country. The letter stated that Nawaz Sharif failed to present medical reports to the board formed by the Islamabad High Court.

The letter has been written on the request of Punjab government.

Earlier, the government decided not to extend the bail of Nawaz Sharif and declared him an absconder for violating the bail requirements.
