PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Coronavirus pandemic: US suspends travel from Europe, Saudi from many countries

 

US President Donald Trump is suspending travel with 26 countries in Europe for 30 days to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The sweeping restrictions will not apply to the United Kingdom and US citizens and permanent residents will be exempted. In his national address, he accused the European Union of not responding quickly enough to the virus, reported by Aljazeera News.

Whereas, Saudi Arabia suspends travel from Pakistan, other countries over coronavirus fears. After coronavirus was declared a “pandemic” by the World Health Organisation, Saudi Arabia temporarily suspended travel of citizens and residents and halted flights with several states including Pakistan, state news agency Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Thursday citing an official source at Interior Ministry.

The decision includes the European Union, Switzerland, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Sudan, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea, Kenya, Djibouti, and Somalia, source added, saying the Kingdom also suspended entry to those coming from these countries. 

Saudi Arabia also suspended passenger traffic through all land crossings with Jordan , while commercial and cargo traffic is still allowed, and the passage of exceptional humanitarian cases.
