Millions of Muslim Pilgrims around the world visit Makkah |
Riyadh : With the outburst of deadly virus in the Muslim holy land of Saudi Arabia the fingers are raised that would it have any affect over the millions of pilgrims around the world to visit Makkah (Mecca) and Medina for Umrah and Hajj.
Three new cases of contracting the Middle East Respirator Syndrome corona virus (MERS-CoV) were reported among the Filipino nurses in Saudi Arabia this Saturday which were among 14 new cases that included 7 in Jeddah, Four in Riyadh and three in Makkah, according to Arab News.
MERS virus is considered a deadlier cousin of SARS virus but it is said to be less-transmissible as compared to its cousin.
Saudi authorities have assured that due to its less-transmissible effects, it is quite safe for the pilgrims to visit the region.
