Madrid: Spain has launched a legal inquiry into reports of spying by U.S intelligence agencies of the millions of its citizens, reported Reuters News Agency.
Attorney general of Spain reacted on the news published in El Mundo that reported that U.S has gathered data of about 60 million phone calls of Spanish citizens.
Spain summoned the U.S ambassador to discuss the allegations which are of similar kind like aroused in France and Germany, which has caused a rare diplomatic upset between allies countries.
Foreign Minister Jose Manuel warned that if reports were true that would break the "Climate of Trust" between two countries.
Germany and France has already protested on the spying issue with United State. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that U.S spying on friends is not fair.
