PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Mamnoon Hussain of PML-N is in strong position to win Presidential election
Islamabad : Mamnoon Hussain is declared the candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the presidential election. 

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has finalized his candidate for coming presidential election and Mamnoon Hussain has been chosen to replace President Asif Ali Zardari.

Mamnoon Hussain has previously served as the governor of Sindh. 

The main opposition party of Pakistan, PPP, has nominated Senator Raza Rabbani as its candidate and he will be supported by maximum number of opposition lawmakers along with the ANP, BNP-A, JUI-F and probably MQM. 

The Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed as their candidate for the election. 

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued a two-page voting instructions to the parliamentarians ahead of the presidential election. 

The election will be held through a secret ballot. The president election will be held through a secret ballot on 6th August.
