PILDAT says Feb 8 polls record lowest fairness score since 2013

  The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) has issued a report detailing its assessment of the recently-concluded general election, expressing deep concerns over a decline in fairness scores compared to previous election cycles.

Beirut : A pro-west March 14th Alliance, Uqab Saqr admits to cooperating with foreign-backed militants in Syria, Iranian PressTv reprots. 

Uqab Saqr is accused of deploying militants and weapons to Syria as recordings of Saqr’s telephone conversations with militants in Syria were released recently. 


A number of Lebanese Islamic figures issued a statement on Saturday and highlighted Saqr and head of al-Mustaqbal movement Saad Hariri’s role in dispatching arms to militants in Syria. They also called on Lebanon’s Judiciary to adopt necessary measures and prosecute Saqr and Hariri.

Saqr had reportedly organized the abduction of 13 Lebanese pilgrims earlier in May and finally paid a certain amount of money to the kidnapping group to transfer the pilgrims to Turkey. 

Lebanese army has seized a large number of consignments of weapons and ammunition bound for militants in Syria.
