Israel to Halt ground Invasion of Gaza

Residential Areas of Gaza destroyed by Israeli bombardment
Tel Aviv: Israel has announced that it is going to halt the ground invasion of Gaza to give chance to Egyptian led truce to work.

"The Israeli ministers have decided to hold off the launch of a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip to give Egyptian-led truce efforts a chance to work," AFP quoted a senior Israeli official as saying.
Earlier this week, the former Israeli army chief of staff and air force, Lieutenant General Dan Halutz had acknowledged that there is no guarantee for the success of Israel's ground military invasion of Gaza.

With the news of Israeli aggressions on Gaza, Tel Aviv waged a psychological war against the Palestinians by saying that they would launch an invasion into Gaza.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, at a news conference in Cairo after talks with Arab League chief Nabil Elaraby, called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and said an Israeli ground operation in the Palestinian enclave would be a "dangerous escalation" that must be avoided.

Israel has killed more than 115 Palestinians and more than 900 others injured in the new wave of attacks on the Gaza Strip since Wednesday.

The Palestinian groups have fired more than 1,200 missiles and rockets at Israel to respond the attacks.
